Luke 7

It is late in the afternoon and I'm currently resting outside after a long day working, that was slightly interrupted by an interesting turn of events. My name is Levi and I have a family of six, four girls, two boys, and a wife whom I love dearly. I work from the early morning to the early evening making rugs in my self-owned shop. I do all this so I can earn enough to feed my family. But enough about me, I want to speak about the events that took place in the small town I live in, Capernaum.

For the past two weeks, one of the prominent centurion's servant has been quite ill, which very much worried his owner. But yesterday, this town was blessed with a great surprise! Jesus himself came to our town. Upon hearing this the centurion sent for his friends to approach Jesus about healing his servant. The centurion is a close acquaintance of mine and I know him to be a very humble man, so the fact that he did this does not strike me as odd. This whole scene occurred outside of my rug store and I couldn't help but overhear what the centurion's friends had to say to Jesus. Of course, there was a crowd surrounding Him, for I have heard He has a great following consisting of disciples and other believes. I personally had not had a chance to listen to Him speak before this and was greatly excited to hear Him preach.

The centurion's friends told Jesus what the centurion had to say, which was "Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority."
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at the centurion! I saw Him turn to the crowd following him, and say, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” The men heard this and returned to their house.

By that time I had joined the crowd surrounding Jesus and listen to Him great things to the people. I am now one of his followers and plan to travel with Him as He preaches the great news to people of many different cities!
