John 6 - First Miracle I've Seen

I have continued to follow Christ. My father is worried but I told him not to worry since I was confident that Christ would take care of me. Early this morning I saw a miracle! We were near the sea of Galilee with a very large group; probably about five thousand people in total. Jesus wanted to feed the multitude so he asked his twelve disciples where they should go to purchase bread. I payed very close attention to this because I was extremely hungry and had not eaten more than a few sardines the day before. The disciples told Christ that they did not have enough money to pay for even a fraction of the food they would need in order to feed everyone. This disappointed me so I began eating dates from a nearby tree. While the disciples were figuring out what they were going to do, a little boy came forward with two tasty looking fish and five barley loaves. Jesus' disciple Andrew brought them forward. He looked puzzled as if he were wondering how such a small amount of food would be able to feed five thousand people. He handed the food to Jesus who had the disciples get all of the people to sit down. Once everyone was sitting down in the grassy field he gave thanks to God for the bread and fish then dispersed it amongst the disciples. Jesus continued to give out more food without running out. I was given three fish and three loaves. They were absolutely delicious. People were so full that they looked like cattle and could barely get up. The disciples began to gather up the leftovers. In total they managed to fill twelve large baskets. It amazes me how Jesus was able to make such a tiny bit of food feed so many people. When the people realized that a miracle had been performed they began exclaiming that Jesus was a prophet. I did not believe this because Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. They wanted to make Jesus king over all the land so Jesus left us and entered into a mountainous region on his own. I decided to stay with his disciples, trusting that we would see Jesus again. The men wanted to cross the sea of Galilee so they loaded up their boat and set off towards the city of Capernum. They allowed me to come with them because they had seen my faith grow and knew that I believed as strongly as themselves. It was a dark night with high seas and dangerously strong winds. As the disciples were rowing all of a sudden someone saw Jesus walking towards our boat on the water surface. This frightened us greatly but Jesus yelled to us saying not to be afraid. He entered into our little ship and suddenly we arrived at the other side. I will continue to write more as we continue with Jesus.
