We went across a lake to get to Gerasenes. Once we got out of the boat, Jesus was met by a peculiar man who came out of a tomb. There was something off about him…this man was extremely strong. No one was strong enough to subdue him, and when the people bound him, he broke the chains! At night, he cried and cut himself. Once he saw Jesus, he ran and fell before Him. He said “What do you want with me Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me!” (vs. 7). I did not understand what was going on. At least until Jesus said “come out of this man you evil spirit” (vs. 8) He then asked the spirit what his name was. The man’s voice began to change; it was deep, raspy and sounded as if there was an entire city speaking at once. “My name is Legion, for we are many” (vs. 9) is what they replied with. Many if the people were frightened, but I was not afraid. I know that Jesus will not let anything happen, I have faith in Him. Legion begged Jesus to allow them to stay in the area; they even asked to be sent into the herd of pigs! How odd, why would any person or spirit ask to be a pig? What could happen if Jesus sent them out of the area? I do not understand. Jesus did as Legion asked, and they were cast into the pigs. Immediately the swine went berserk and all 2,000 of them ran off of the cliff! The man was cleansed and Jesus told him to go back to his family abd tell them what God has done. The man listened and went to th Decapolis to tell everyone what Jesus had done.
Along this journey with Christ, I have learned so much about myself and about what God wants me to do. I know now that He is real and that Jesus is our Messiah. I write down what I see and hear so that other people may know it too. I see Matthew Mark and Luke taking notes as well, and I hear John the Baptist has started writhing things as well. They should get their writings together to form a sort of book. I have seen things I know most people will not believe, but I have to testify just the same. Maybe one day, someone will come to know the truth from my writings.
